Some Summer Fun

This was July 3rd on the Colorado River near Nelson's Landing.
We were having a great time in the water in our awesomely powerful water crafts, when suddenly we saw a huge black cloud coming our way. We got out of the water and as we were approaching the beach where our stuff was, the rain started falling and falling, then pelting and pelting us and it got very windy. It was quite an adventure. Spencer and his buddy Vincent power rowing.

Ali, Sam, and Dave drifting.

Sam and Ali -row row row your boat. (by the way Mom, Dave was close at hand in case of anyone overboard)

That night we stayed at a really great hotel, the Cable Mountain Lodge by the entrance to Zion so that we'd be able to wake up early enough to be in Springdale's 4th of July Parade.
We made it -Yea! and the kids had a great time and got to throw out gobs of candy.
This was Cable Mountain Lodge's float -very charming and kid friendly.

Thanks Nate (my baby brother who manages Cabel Mtn. Lodge -thus our connection)
He drove the train.

Then we went to meet my parents and older brother Riley and his family in Zion to walk the Narrows trail.
Lots of squirrels.

A tired out Sammy.
A nice man on the trail.

Hanging with Grandpa
Back at Grandma and Grandpa's for a yummy barbeque and a great firework show.

This was part of COUSIN WEEK.
Cason who is about 5 months older than Spencer and Makenah who is about 5 months younger than Ali came and played with us. They get along so great and had a super time.
One of the things that we did was go on the New York New York roller coaster. Makenah was the one who was most excited to do this. Sadly when we got there they made her take her shoes off and she was just barely too short. She was a good sport anyway.

We went swimming and to Sky Mania to jump, jump, jump.
Then on Friday we went to Pine Valley, Utah and went camping.

I really love camping. The kids have so much fun playing hard, climbing and exploring. And Pine Valley was so cool and smelled wonderful -I wanted to bottle it up and take it home with me.

Cooking's fun!
Here's my little chef Sam -he loves to cook.

Ali enjoying a yummy crepe thanks to Spencer.

Spencer mastering the flipping of the crepe.
Ali made us some delicious pork chops -finger lickin good.
